Thomas Pasatieri After twenty years of brilliance in composing operas such as The Seagull, Pasatieri orchestrated music for a wide spectrum of Academy and Golden Globe Award winning films such as Finding Nemo, Erin Brockovich, American Beauty, and HBO's Angels in America.* Now, to bring an end to his twenty-year absence from his first love and success, opera, Pasatieri re-orchestrates his most famous composition, The Seagull, at the express request of friend and San Francisco Opera Center Director, Sheri Greenawald. To make this felicitous occasion even more special, Pasatieri has agreed to give a free lecture one hour before each performance!

The Seagull will absorb you with its tale of the aspiring playwright and his undying love for his muse, Nina, an aspiring actress. The story cascades into a series of intertwining love triangles, familial conflicts between a son and his melodramatic mother, and a spectrum of approaches to dealing with unbridled career success and hopeless failure. With its intricate libretto, The Seagull is the perfect springboard to showcase the full breadth of the Adler Fellows' diverse talents. Critics rave:

"There seemed to be nothing ... that [Jane Archibald's] creamy, agile soprano couldn't conquer."
- Chicago Sun-Times

"Karen Slack was warmly expressive, especially in her vibrant top range."
- New York Times

"Katherine Rohrer... has a large, vibrant, exciting mezzo and vivid dramatic instincts."
- Boston Globe

"The strong cast was galvanized by the massive-voiced baritone Lucas Meachem's highly emotional [performance]."
- Opera News

"[Ricardo Herrera's] handsome bravado draws him into the audience's favor as his strong voice captures their attention."
- Los Altos Town Crier

Don't miss this one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience a marvelous melding of opera and drama, perfectly suited for the intimate setting of the 350-seat Cowell Theater!
