My name is Antoinette N. Royal, aka Nina Royal. My parents were Italian and I was born in N.Y. I now live in the community of Tujunga in the city of Los Angeles. We have a location in the community formerly called Tuna Canyon Concertration Camp which was in service during World War II. It housed German and Italian prisoners of war. I am Vice Chairman of our Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council, visit www.stnc.org We are trying to save the location, which is now a public golf course, from developers who are looking to put approx 300 condos on that site. The community wants to save the area as a historical land site and put of historical memorial on that historical site. I have only one reference to the fact that italians were incarcerated there. Join the Painting Expedition to Tuscany, Italy
Last Two Weeks of August 2007
Stay on a farm 20 minutes from Florence. Experience traditional Tuscan cuisine. Explore and paint places most tourists never visit. Anthony Holdsworth lived in Florence for two years in the Sixties helping clean up after the flood of '66. He has returned many times to paint throughout Italy. He has extensive knowledge of the culture, language and practical experience painting in Italy.
Equally appropriate for beginners or advanced students. One or two non-painters are welcome.
