Lezioni
These lessons are for students whose native language is English, but students who speak other languages can also profit from them.
This is
why:
1) Glossaries include pictures; if you recognize the object, you can associate image and word.
(In general, images are more stimulating for learning)
2) Practice is redundant, but with different routines, associating words with words (Italian and English), images with words, sounds with
words. This has the purpose of accomodating different learning styles and avoid boredom.
3) Words are presented in different ways: as sound objects, as indicators of things or actions, as conveying different messages when used
as metaphors, as grammatical parts (following a set of rules).
4) You can choose your preferred way of learning and jump from topic to topic, follow an ordered sequence, or study a particular topic.
Some activities require understanding, some practice, some listening, some observation, some deduction.
Hopefully the topic -- food, everyday activities, animals, plants, and so on -- has also an emotional interest that attracts your
attention, helping with the learning process.
You don't need to do every single activity. If you are more interested in pronunciation, do the phonetic exercises; if you aim to increase
your vocabulary, do the appropriate exercises.
When you think you are ready to engage with another person, find a partner and start practicing in writing or face to face, or via the
Internet.
Buon divertimento!
